'The Green Kimono'
Oil on linen.
70 x 100 cm
I wanted to paint an oriental composition hence this painting came along. I'm very inspired by the work of Emil Carlson and his oriental still Life paintings. I dressed my model Stephanie in a green kimono that I had bought for the painting, and she holds an asian candle holder. The colors that I aimed for the painting were more pastels that set off the green and the red of the kimono. Frame included.
